What is the German Australian Community Centre Queensland (GACCQ)?

GACCQ is a Brisbane-based non-profit organisation promoting German culture, language, and heritage across Queensland. We support community initiatives, cultural events, and educational programs that promote cross-cultural understanding and celebrate the contributions of the German and Australian communities.

GACCQ is based in Brisbane, Queensland. While we don’t operate from a fixed public venue, we collaborate with various locations across the city for events and programs. For specific event locations and contact information, visit our EVENTS page

GACCQ is involved in a range of cultural and educational events, including:

  • The German Heritage Seminar during Brisbane German Week explores German settlement history and genealogy.
  • Oktoberfest Brisbane and Karneval, supporting traditional German festivals.
  • Language Awards and German Language Roundtable initiatives to promote German language learning.
  • Commemorative projects like the Ludwig Leichhardt anniversary and the publication of “Queensland’s German Connections.”
